The Cornerstone Program operates Monday through Friday from 2:00 to 10:00PM, Saturday from 10:00AM to 5:00PM.
The Cornerstone Program is an extension of the school day that will provide individualized student attention and a wide range of activities to spark imagination and promote self-discovery. The goal is to create a safe haven, and to help each child attain and exceed the City and State standards as well as make them aware of their distinctive ethnic community and how they can participate in making others aware through service learning projects. While the afternoon is a relaxed atmosphere where they should be having fun, the children are expected to follow the rules of conduct and behavior that apply during the day.
In addition, the focus extends to adult community members. It promotes a sense of togetherness and community strength by affording opportunities to enhance social and emotional growth. In this light, the Center offers a variety of activities that engage the adult population.
