This presentation has a direct link to the Italian culture.
Purposely imagined not to neglect the principal dialects of Il Bel Paese (Italy).
It is the product of a brilliant dramatic intuition.
The color, the emotions, the flavors recorded in the monologue suit perfectly F.I.A.O.’s goals since only through the art of the theatrical word we can satisfy the consonance which live in the Italian and American people.
Deep roots of the Italian soul intertwined with the Anglo American lifestyle.
A WOMAN WITH FANTACY
“Un Nonologo” ( A Monologue Of Her Grandmother)
A true story, in which the imagination is only the folundation of the real life episodes narrated in this brilliant monologue; a “nonologo” as the playwriter himself, Stefano Maria Palmitessa, loves to define the memories, the sensations, the pranks, allude by the protagonist/actress to have lived during the harsh infancy alongside her loving grandmother. “I was four years of age when I said: when I grow up I am going to be an actress. I have always had a vivid imagination. I would have fun inventing stories where the caracters that I interpreted, astonishing family and friends, transformed them into audience”. This how the actress from Lentini, Eleonora Micali, describes her start. She enriched them with the experiences accumulated during the extensive trial period acting around the world, contained in a show also filled with literary transgressions made possible by the actress’ amazing command of many dialects. An authentic and surprising artistic performance.
This theatrical text has been presented in Sicily on March 3,4,5, 2017 in one of the historic palaces of Carlentini (SR) and on April 23,2017 at the Manhattan theater of Rome.
BIOGRPHY ELEONORA MICALI
Eleonora Micali borne in Lentini in the Province of Siracusa; surrounded by the fragrance of the oranges and the magic of ancient theaters.
Eleonora, from a very young age feels the need to search for beauty and marvelous. At barely four years of age, and taking advantage of the natural gift of fantasy, she embarked on interpreting stories invented by herself. What started as a game soon allowed her to overcome her shyness. In fact, although only a young girl, her stories, and especially the way she would interpret them, were able to dismay the improvised “spectators” (family and friends) and transform them into “real audience”.
As a small stream that gradually increases in size, it becomes a river and, with impetus, empties in the immensity of the sea; Eleonora, since the successes of the school and home recitals, became convinced that acting would become her reason for living.
Eleonora Micali grows up, and with her the dream of “becoming an actress”. Upon graduation, moves to Rome.
In the Capital she enrolls in the Academy “La Scaletta” and takes the first steps towards her career.
With indefatigable energy Eleonora starts her career and becames a professional. These are years soaked with a strong vocation to recite permeated by passion, hard work and extraordinary sacrifices, the outcomes were participation in movies and stage performances on the stages of some of the most important theaters in Italy, among which Il Teatro Greco di Siracusa- to underline her ancestral link between her origins and her recital. Micali, still today, faces an interesting future based on research and experimentation of genre and styles of theatrical and cinematographic recital.
Her unstoppable fervor, her serious dedication, together with study, research and humility, – all this and more- have allowed Micali to bring to life faceted and blood protagonists. For example: Roma Ligoka” Polish Jew from the “Bambina col cappotto rosso” (the young lady in the red coat).
The great successes, together with a few failures, are signs of the burning desire to live to the end this “Fuoco Sacro” (sacred fire) enough to push our versatile Eleonora to catapult herself into the Big Apple; located overseas (away from her loved ones and her beloved Motherland), but deeply vivid in her emotional memory to the point of asserting, referring to New York: “ I feel something …deep in my gut that… makes me think to have already lived here, in another life”.
Therefore, is this the new future … or the continuation of the past?
